Phoenix Children's Photographer | June is here

I shouldn't be complaining.  I promised myself all through spring, the weeks that followed that should have been the start of our summer and the last two weeks when we were all wondering if we still lived in Phoenix because it was so unseasonably cool because I was so appreciative of the beautiful weather that I wouldn't complain when the heat finally hit.

Sadly, that promised lasted about as long as ice cube on the sidewalk in today's afternoon sun.  In other words, it's hot and I don't like it.  This time of year always makes me restless.  It has me day dreaming of summers in Portland, roadtrips to Telluride and an extended monsoon season full of rain.  Why oh why can't I just be happy with what I've got!?

The girls and I are trying to take advantage of the fact that the mornings are still cool enough to be outside in the shade and evening walks to the park are managable.  Today we visited the new SeaLife Aquarium and spent as much time outdoors as we could handle.

My daily grateful:

Ice, for munching, for sidewalk painting and for cool cool drinks on a hot afternoon

Kate's ability to make friends wherever she goes

Being able to walk to the park at the end of our street and PLAY before bedtime
