Phoenix Family Photographer | Farewell January
Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 9:53PM Since I've already professed my love of January in a previous post I'll get right to the point. I'm a little sad to see it go so quickly. Anyone who has grand plans for the remaining 11 months should consider kicking it into high gear right about now. Time flies.
Today was a lovely day. We took a trip to Desert Roots Farm for a food pick up. Since we planned well and had the food safely packed on ice in a cooler we decided to stop at the QC Olive Mill on the way home. The grounds aren't as expansive as The Farm but the food was delicious, the interior was charming and the kids had a blast running around outside. The staff was very friendly. The owner spoke with Kate at length about her bear, Sparkles, who belongs to Kate's TK class. The children rotate taking him home over the weekend and this is the second time he's visted us. The kids draw pictures and paste photos in his journal to document where he's been and what he's seen. Kate also had fun telling everyone at the restaurant about the worm she dug up near one of the olive trees. She reassured them that she let the worm go and made sure to cover him gently with more dirt for safety purposes.

We spent the rest of the afternoon being silly and listening to music. I had to post a photo of Kate and her latest craze. The battery on our iTouch will no longer hold a charge. We decided to load it with all of our favorite children's music and lullabies and dock it in the girls' room. iHome makes an awesome night light/speaker/docking station which fits perfectly on their bedside table. Kate has spent many many hours sitting on her bed listening to all her favorite songs. She often asks for alone time just to be able to listen to music. I know it drives her sister nuts but I completely understand. Love, bordering on obsession, of music is one of the things that Kate and I have in common.
Hope everyone enjoys what's left of January!
