As a professional photographer, I have to ask: a baby in a towel? That's not much of a summer picture, now, is it? The pic of the man splashing on the shore with the two boys or the girl with the moist tendrils of hair blowing bubbles portrays the feel of summer better than a sleeping baby in a towel. Even one of the pics not picked to compete (the baby splashing in the pool) had a more summery feel. But then maybe the person who took the winning pic had more friends to vote. In the end, it's about popularity, not artistry. Unfortunately.
